In the Spotlight at Brevard County Recycling

Recycle It or Trash It?

RC the Recycling CatRC the Recycling Cat was a stray cat found sorting recyclables out of the neighborhood trash. RC’s knowledge in recycling secured him a job as the mascot for Brevard County’s Recycling Program and he has worked and lived with the Solid Waste Management Department ever since. RC has come a long way since he was a stray cat. He has learned so much more about recycling. RC is always excited to share his knowledge about recycling the right way through our educational outreach programs.

Today, RC is now ready to enhance his knowledge, skills and abilities for his chosen career path. He has signed up for classes at the local college. RC loves visiting schools and he continues to make time in his busy schedule to hand out high fives and recycling tips!

Welcome

Recycling Omnibus

Welcome to the all-new Recycling Pages! Here we have plenty of resources, media, and information to answer any questions you may have about recycling.

Recyclable Material Collection is provided once a week. Recyclables must be place in the automated recycling collection cart with the YELLOW lid provided by Waste Management, Inc. Please keep lid of recycling container closed at all time. Any rain that gets the paper products wet makes them unrecyclable.

Recycle Right, Brevard!

Sustainability Tip!

There is a common misconception that plastic bags can be recycled in your mixed recycling cart at home. Plastic bags actually slow down recycling operations by clogging equipment and creating additional safety hazards for maintenance personnel. You can take plastic bags to your local grocery store for recycling. Like us on Facebook www.facebook.com/recyclerightbrevard
