Wickham Park Closed

MELBOURNE, FL. -- Following a brush fire last night in Wickham Park, the City of Melbourne Fire Department has requested Parks and Recreation close the park to pedestrians and vehicle traffic today, Friday, June 11. This recommendation is due to ongoing smoldering and hot spots that could flare up with predicted high winds this afternoon. The Melbourne Fire Department is on site at this time continuing their assessment of the situation. The closure would not affect the Wickham Park campground. Campers will still have access in and out of the park. 

Parks and Recreation will continue to work with the Melbourne Fire Department throughout the day and we will send updates as the situation changes.
