Public Input Sought for At-Risk Housing and Homeless Services Funding

BREVARD COUNTY, FL. -- Brevard County HOME Consortium is seeking comments from the general public on the draft Substantial Amendment to fiscal year 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan to include the HOME-ARP funding.

Brevard County has been awarded $4,524,586.00 in HOME-ARP funding and purpose to utilize the funding in the following categories: supportive services, development of affordable rental housing, non-profit operating, non-profit capacity building and administration and planning, to reduce homelessness and increase housing stability. The funding must primarily benefit qualifying individuals who are experiencing homelessness; individuals at risk of homelessness; persons fleeing or attempting to flee domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking or human trafficking; and other populations where providing supportive services or assistance would prevent homelessness or would serve those at greatest risk of housing instability.

FIFTEEN-DAY PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD: There will be a public comment period will open March 3 and close at 5 p.m. March 20 for the draft HOME-ARP Allocation Plan. During this period, the draft plan will be available for public review on the County Web site: https://www.brevardfl.gov/HousingAndHumanServices/PlansAndReports and at the following locations:

PUBLIC HEARING: The public hearing on the proposed HOME-ARP allocation plan is scheduled to be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21. The public hearing will be held during the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners meeting, 1^st floor Commission Chambers, Building C, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Viera, FL  32940.
