Brevard County

Workforce Recovery Assistance Program

Workforce Recovery Assistance Program, available to small businesses (fewer than 50 employees) impacted by COVID 19 can apply to have employee pay covered for up to 16 weeks. Deadline to file is July 31. For information visit Career Source Brevard.

Small Business PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) Kits

Small business PPE Kits for businesses with 25 employees or less are available. For information visit the BrevardCARES page.

The Housing and Human Services Coronavirus Assistance Program

The Housing and Human Services Coronavirus Assistance Program application form is available for download. Applicants must review and submit all of the required documents and attachments to qualify for assistance.

Brevard County Farmers Market

Brevard County Farmers Market is open Thursdays from 3 PM to 6 PM. Links to each of the vendors can be found at Brevard County Farmers Market.

  • Through August 31 when SNAP/EBT is used, they will double the amount purchased. The amount purchased will be given in the form of orange tokens, and can be used with most all of the vendors.
  • The matching dollars will be given in the form of green tokens and can only be used for fresh produce or plants that produce fruits, veggies, or herbs.
  • There is currently no limit on the match and tokens do not expire.

Community Feeding Operations

  • For information on food pantry locations and how to access help, utilize the United Way of Brevard’s COVID-19 Community Resource guide. It is recommended that you call ahead to verify availability.
  • Brevard County Public Schools continue to offer meals for all children up to 18 years old at 15 food distribution sites until July 31.
    • Food distribution sites are open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays only from
      10:30 AM to 12:30 PM.  Food distribution sites.
  • Brevard County Parks and Recreation Department will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program until Friday, August 7. Drive up and walk up service will be available from 10:30 AM –12:30 PM.
  • Brevard County has partnered with the Children's Hunger Project to distribute 4,000 weekend meals.
  • To date, Brevard County VOAD feeding operation has distributed 1.4 million meals.

  • Florida Department of Health in Brevard (DOH-Brevard) is offering free COVID-19 testing.

EFSC Palm Bay Campus

  • Free drive-through, no appointment required, testing at the Eastern Florida State College, Palm Bay Campus located at 250 Community College Parkway. (Use the entrance from San Filippo Dr. SE & Jupiter Blvd.)
  • Testing will be available seven days a week from 9 AM to 5 PM for individuals over the age of 18.
  • Photo ID is required for all who desire testing, to verify they are of legal age.

Brevard County School Board voted to delay the start of 2020 21 school year to August 24.

Winter break will be reduced from 12 days to 10 days from December 18 January 1.

Palm Bay

City has implemented the requirement that all employees are to wear masks/face coverings at all times while on the job, with limited exceptions allowed. Standardized signage has also been placed on entry doors for all city owned facilities asking visitors to wear face coverings, and advising that masks will be provided upon entry. However, this is not mandatory for visitors and there is no current enforcement mechanism in place.

Titusville COVID-19 information

West Melbourne

City Council has adopted an Emergency Ordinance requiring all businesses in West Melbourne to post their face mask policy, employers of ten identified “essential businesses” to require their employees to wear masks while inside public areas of their business, and requiring customers of the identified “essential businesses” to wear a mask while inside the business.

The ordinance also allows other West Melbourne businesses, at their discretion, to opt into the ordinance such that the Police Department would be able to enforce the ordinance within their particular business.

Municipal buildings are closed to the public except for the purpose of City Council and City board meetings, and for voting on election days. All persons entering buildings must wear a face covering.

State / National Highlights


Governor DeSantis has deployed a second round of Incident Management Teams to all long term care facilities to check on infection control, screening procedures & PPE supply. The state has twenty COVID exclusive facilities to relieve the pressure on both long term care facilities and hospitals.


Governor DeSantis issued Executive Order 20-166 , extending Executive Order 20-94 regarding limited extension of mortgage foreclosure and eviction relief until August 1.
