Prevent COVID-19 in Your Home
COVID-19 can spread anywhere –even places where you feel safe, like your home. Prevent COVID-19 inside your home by:
- In shared spaces, stay about 2 arm lengths apart. Remember that people can spread the virus even if they don’t have symptoms, and wear a mask around others
- Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer, if soap and water aren’t available.
- Monitor your health daily, watch for fever, cough, shortness of breath, or other symptoms of COVID-19.
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces in shared spaces
- Avoid sharing personal household items
- Do not share items such as dishes, drinking glasses, cups, eating utensils, or towels with other people in your home, wash these items thoroughly after using them
- If someone gets sick, separate the person who is sick from other people in your home

Rental/Mortgage Assistance Program and Utility/Security Deposit Program applicants must review and submit all required documents and attachments to qualify for assistance listed on HHS Coronavirus Assistance Program Application Form
Visit the Brevard CARES website for details on the Small Business and Nonprofit Organizations grant on-line application.
Small businesses and nonprofit organizations may be eligible for grants up to $10,000 to offset expenses and lost revenue related to impacts from COVID.
Residents Financially Impacted by COVID-19 May Be Eligible for A/C, Heating Unit Replacement Funds.
Applications are available at county libraries and community centers.
Workforce Recovery Assistance Program is available through December 30, 2020. This program aids Small Businesses
(fewer than 50 employees) impacted by COVID-19. businesses rehire their laid off or furloughed employee(s) by funding hourly wages.

Brevard County Public Schools continue to offer meals for all children up to 18 years old at various food distribution sites through December 31.

State / National Highlights
On December 1, Governor DeSantis issued Emergency Order #20-EO-07, which allows parents to choose in-person or virtual learning, mandates additional step to identify and reduce gaps experienced by virtual users
On December 2, the CDC updated it quarantine recommendations. Per the new guidance, the CDC continues to suggest a 14 day quarantine period, but allows local health authorities to shorten quarantine based on the following conditions:
- Quarantine can end after Day 10 without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring
- Quarantine can end after Day 7 if a tests negative and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring
- Both options, required continued symptom monitoring and masking through Day 14
