The Affordable Housing Council reviews the established policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and the County's adopted comprehensive plan and shall recommend specific initiatives to encourage and facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of the property to appreciate in value.

The Art in Public Places Advisory Committee is established to make recommendations to the County Commission on the selection of art that will be exhibited in places available to the public for their cultural enrichment and appreciation.

The Board of Adjustment is empowered to hear and decide variances to the Zoning Code and Sign Code found in Chapter 62, Articles VI and IX. The Board of Adjustment meets once a month, usually the third Wednesday of the month. The meetings are open to the public.

The Brevard County Library Advisory Board supports the establishment, operation and maintenance of the free public library service within Brevard County. 

The Building and Construction Advisory Committee is authorized to review and make recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners concerning such codes, ordinances, or resolutions which may potentially impact the building construction industry in Brevard County.

The Citizen Budget Review Committee is to assist the County Commissioners in reviewing the Proposed Budget to ensure it is consistent with the County Commission goals and priorities and those goals and priorities are being met in the most efficient and effective manner.

The Community Action Board primary function is to review and recommend programs for the Brevard County Community Action Agency to provide to Brevard County residents through the us of Community Services Block Grant and Low Income Energy Assistance Program.

The Brevard County Community Development Block Grant Citizens Advisory Board shall provide and perform such duties and services as may from time to time be assigned to the Board by the Board of County Commissioners.

The purpose of Chapter 59-1097 Laws of Florida, first established April 27, 1959, was to protect public health and safety in the County by regulation of the building contractors business and those engaged in such business. Chapter 59-1097, Laws of Florida provided provisions for the BOCC to establish the Building Contractor's Board of Examiners in the unincorporated areas of the County. Subsequently to this legislation, the Board of Examiners has evolved over the years with 35 additional trade classifications adopted by the BOCC. The Board is known as the Contractors' Licensing Board.

Established in 2004, to carry out such duties within the realm of emergency medical services as the BOCC and/or the County Fire Chief may delegate to the Council from time to time.

The Diamond Square Community Redevelopment Agency (Agency) has a seven (7) member board. One member of the Agency is either the Board of County Commissioner whose District the Agency is located or a designee who either resides or is engaged in business within the Community Redevelopment District.

Established in 1962 as an area-wide association of governments, the East Central Florida Regional Planning Council is represented by 32 Council Members and a skilled staff that provides technical assistance to governments and organizations within the 8-County East Central Florida region.

The Commission's purpose is to promote and foster economic and industrial development in Brevard County, Florida by promoting and implementing economic programs designed to both strengthen and expand income potential of all businesses within the trade area and attract new business to relocate or expand in Brevard County, by promoting programs of a civic, social and cultural nature which are designed to increase the functional and aesthetic values of the community, and by discovering and correcting obstacles which prevent the promotion of or otherwise inhibit business expansion and community economic growth.

The County Canvassing Board shall meet in a building accessible to the public in the County at a time and place to be designated by the Supervisor of Elections to publicly canvass the absent electors' ballots and provisional ballots as provided Florida Statutes.

The Committee serves as an advisory committee to the Board of County Commissioners on all issues involving the acquisition and management of environmentally endangered lands within the EEL Program protected area network in Brevard County.

The Authority assist health facilities in the acquisition, construction, financing, and refinancing of the health facilities projects with the County.

It shall be the duty of the commission to collect, arrange, record and preserve historical material and data, including books, pamphlets, maps, charts, manuscripts, family histories, U.S. census records, papers and other objects and material illustrative of and relating to the history of the county and of the state; to procure and preserve narratives of the early pioneers, their exploits, perils, privations and achievements; to collect material of every description relative to the history of Indian tribes and wars, and relative to soldiers, schools and churches.

The Board of County Commissioners declared that the shortages of housing and of capital for investment in housing exist in the County and that further, the elimination of such shortages and the provision of adequate housing would prevent the recurrence of slum conditions, stimulate employment and commerce, and be consistent with sound planning in Brevard County, the Board the Housing Finance Authority.

Established by Interlocal Agreement in 2015, the goals of the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary program are to attain and maintain water and sediment of sufficient quality to support a healthy estuarine lagoon ecosystem; to attain and maintain a functioning, health ecosystem which support endangered and threatened species, fisheries, commerce and recreation; to achieve heightened public awareness and coordinated interagency management of the Indian River Lagoon ecosystem; and to identify and develop long-term funding sources for prioritized projects and programs to preserve, protect, restore and enhance the Indian River Lagoon.

The general purpose of the Local Health Council of East Central Florida is to serve as the official, legal and direct link between the various board of County Commissioners in Brevard, Orange, Osceola and Seminole Counties to develop a district health plan and to serve as a catalyst for efforts to implement recommendations for improvement in the health care delivery system in the District.

The Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District shall possess the full power and authority to implement, finance, and operate all existing surface water management system facilities, and those to be constructed within the boundaries of the District, subject to being granted all permits required by the laws, rules, and regulations of Federal, State and regional regulatory agencies and to the requirements set forth in Chapter 2001-336, Laws of Florida.

Ordinance No. 88-43 authorizes the Community Redevelopment Agency to exercise all powers conferred, and limited, by Part III, Chapter 163, Florida Statutes, necessary to carry out and effectuate the purposes of the community redevelopment within the boundaries of the Merritt Island Community Redevelopment Area.

The objective of the commission is to function as an advisory board to the City of Titusville, The Board of County Commissioners and the School Board for the establishment, maintenance and administration of a system of parks, recreational and cultural facilities, now in existence or hereafter created, for the joint use and benefit of County Commission District 1 and the participating municipalities and boards therein.

The Florida Legislature established an independent special district created and incorporated, as a political subdivision of the State, to be known as the North Brevard County Hospital District for the purpose of establishing, constructing, equipping, operating and maintaining, repairing or leasing a hospital or hospitals within the District's boundaries.

The North Brevard Economic Development District (also referred to as the 'North Brevard Economic Development Zone' and 'North Brevard Development Board') shall  act as the agency of the Board of County Commissioners in the negotiation and execution, through the Board of County Commissioners Chair, of all contracts for the private sale or private lease of county-owned land within the boundaries of Spaceport Commerce Park. However, before any contract becomes binding on the County, the contract must be approved by the Board of County Commissioners.

The Personnel Council shall suggest and recommend to the Director of Human Resources policies and procedures governing the appointment, promotion, transfer, separation, employee grievances and appeals, employee evaluation, development and personnel matters pertaining to County service personnel.

The Planning and Zoning Board / Local Planning Agency serve as the recommending body for the Board of County Commissioners in matters concerning comprehensive planning, zoning, and land development matters.

The Port St. John Board serves as the recommending body for the Planning and Zoning Board/Local Planning Agency, and the Board of County Commissioners for requests within the Dependent Special District Area of Port St. John.

The Council shall meet for the purpose of assessing the population status of Brevard County detention facilities to formulate recommendations to ensure that the capacities of such facilities are not exceeded.

The Save Our Indian River Lagoon Citizen Oversight Committee provides public oversight and a transparent process that not only allows, but fosters, development and implementation of better, less costly and/or timelier tools and techniques for restoration of the Indian River Lagoon.

The Titusville-Cocoa Airport District was created to acquire, construct, improve, finance, operate, and maintain airport facilities and such buildings, structures, roads, alleyways, railroad loading and unloading facilities, and any other development of land owned or leased by the Authority and essential to the economic welfare of the inhabitants and which will promote the economic, commercial, and industrial development of the Authority.
