NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Brevard County Board of County Commissioners, through the Housing and Human Service Department, will hold a public meeting to discuss the submission of a Community Development Block Grant – Coronavirus
(CDBG-CV) Entitlement Program Pre-Application to the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (DEO). This meeting will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1:00 pm, at the Viera Government Center, Florida Room, 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way,
Bldg. C, 3rd Floor, Viera, Florida 32940.
Agencies, groups, and individuals are invited and encouraged to attend this meeting and share their ideas and comments with County staff.
The CDBG-CV Entitlement Program is designed to provide entitlement communities (such as Brevard County) funds to prepare for, prevent, or respond to the health and economic impacts of COVID-19. The activities must be primarily for the benefit of low-
and moderate-income residents and align with one of the three National Objectives for HUD’s Community Development Block Grant program.
This application seeks to target funds to support Brevard County’s Food Stability Program, specifically pop-up pantry food distribution within local Neighborhood Strategy Areas. These areas have already been certified to meet the HUD definition
for Area Benefit for low- and moderate- income (LMI) persons. Brevard County anticipates funding at $497,389. The anticipated breakdown is as follows: Administrative funding of $99,477 and Public Service funding of $397,912.
