Brevard County Building Permits

Building permits are issued for new construction, alterations, additions, and changes to properties within unincorporated areas of Brevard County.

Documentation requirements, inspections, and conditions will vary by depending on the type of project.

Notice to Contractors: To avoid permitting delays, check your license status in the Brevard County Licensed Contractor Search , before applying for your permit. Contact Contractor Licensing to obtain registration forms or if your search results yielded no results found: (321) 633-2058, option 4, option 6. Contractors are encouraged to complete the Contractor Agreement to enable access to online permit applications at Brevard's Advanced Service Site (BASS). Permits can also be submitted by email, mail or in person. Call the Customer Service Call Center at (321) 633-2187 to schedule an appointment.

Notice to Owner/Builder Applicants: Owners working as their own contractors (referred to as Owner/Builders) must appear in person to file their permit application. Please call (321) 633-2187 to inquire about required forms and to schedule your in office appointment.
