Public Notice - Proposed Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Substantial Amendment to the 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan - 30-day Public Comment Period and Public Hearing
Notice to Citizens: The Brevard County Housing and Human Services Department is soliciting public review and comment on a Substantial Amendment to the 2021-22 Brevard County Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Action Plan as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the local Citizen Participation Plan.
This Amendment identifies the funding and location of infrastructure improvements in accordance with the Annual Goals and Objectives (from the 2021-22 Action Plan) tied to improving low/moderate income neighborhoods using Community Development Block Grant funds. Specifically, $106,481 in CDBG funds for the upgrade of roadways and the installation of speed humps on Orange Avenue and Mitchell Avenue in the East Mims locally designated Neighborhood Strategy Area. Approximately 725 low and moderate income individuals will benefit from these improvements.
30 Day Public Comment Period: There will be a public comment period from March 17, 2023 through April 17, 2023 at 4 pm for the Substantial Amendment. During this period the draft Amendment will be available for public review on the County website: https://www.brevardfl.gov/HousingAndHumanServices/PlansAndReports and at the following locations:

Public Hearing: A public hearing on the proposed Substantial Amendment will be held at 9:00 a.m. on April 18, 2023 during the regularly scheduled Board of County Commissioners meeting located at 2725 Judge Fran Jamieson Way, Building C, Commission Chambers, Viera, FL 32940.
