MELBOURNE, FL. – Brevard County Fire Rescue’s new Special Response Vehicle will officially be placed into service during a traditional ”Push In” ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, July 20. The event will take place at Brevard Zoo Linear Park, 8225 N. Wickham Road, from 1-1:30 p.m.
”Keeping traditions alive, such as the “Push In” ceremony, gives us an opportunity to bring together family and friends and rekindle the history of our fire service and further instill a sense of pride throughout the organization,” said BCFR Chief Mark Schollmeyer.
The SRV “Special Response Vehicle” is a Utility Terrain Vehicle suitable for on- and off-road capabilities. This SRV will be dedicated to Linear Trail and is able to provide emergency medical transportation of patients from areas that are typically inaccessible by ambulance. It can accomodate up to six crew members and is equipped with a medical skid designed to carry one patient, one EMS responder and assorted emergency gear such as oxygen, backboards, and other lifesaving essentials.
