EOC Activation Day 383
CDC COVID-19 Vaccine Recommendations
What is the difference between COVID-19 and Seasonal allergies?
Seasonal allergies triggered by airborne pollen can lead to seasonal allergic rhinitis, which affects the nose and sinuses, and seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, which affects the eyes.
COVID-19 and seasonal allergies share many symptoms, but there are some key differences between the two. For example, COVID-19 can cause fever, which is not a common symptom of seasonal allergies. Seasonal allergies do not usually cause shortness of breath
or difficulty breathing, unless a person has a respiratory condition such as asthma that can be triggered by exposure to pollen.
Because some of the symptoms of COVID-19 and seasonal allergies are similar, it may be difficult to tell the difference between them, and you may need to get a test to confirm your diagnosis.

State and National Updates
As Monday, March 22, 2021, The Agency for Healthcare Administration lifted visitation limitation for long-term care Facilities. Per AHCA all long-term facilities must follow state and federal recommendations for visitation, including infection prevention, and screening prior to entering to the facility
Per the CDC, as of March 24, more than 130 million doses of vaccines have been administered in the United States and 25% of the entire United States population over the age of 18 have been vaccinated.
The CDC guideline for who is considered a fully vaccinated individual:
People are considered fully vaccinated:
- 2 weeks after their second dose in a 2-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines, or
- 2 weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
- If it has been less than 2 weeks since your 1-dose shot, or if you still need to get your second dose of a 2-dose vaccine, you are NOT fully protected. Keep taking all prevention steps until you are fully vaccinated.
The CDC updated its guidance for fully vaccinated individuals. Fully vaccinated individuals can gather indoors with other fully vaccinated people without wearing a mask, gather indoors with unvaccinated people from one other household without masks, and do not need to isolate if exposed to someone who has COVID-19 unless living in a group setting.
