Summer Safety

Summertime heat should not include fire. Use the information on this page to avoid summertime fire dangers.

Summer Fire Tips

  • Do not use or store a grill on a porch or balcony.
  • Only use propane, charcoal and wood pellet grills outside.
  • Keep grills at least 10 feet from your home.
  • Never leave the grill unattended.
  • Always clean your grill after each use to remove grease that can start a fire.
  • When making a campfire, make sure the fire is 25 feet from tents, bushes and greenery, or anything that can catch fire
  • When using a fire pit, make sure the fire pit is at least 10 feet away from homes or anything flammable.
  • Before leaving, make sure the fire is completely out.
