Brevard County Planning & Development Special Magistrate
The Special Magistrate has three (3) functions in relation to Licensing Regulation & Enforcement.
- The first is to hear testimony from violators in regards to citations issued for Unlicensed Contracting, under Division 4, section 22-560 Hearings; Special Magistrate.
- The second is to hear testimony from violators in regards to citations issued for Licensed Contracting without a permit, under Division 3, section 22-534 (a) (20) Prohibited Activities.
- The third is to hear testimony in regards to complaints filed against a county licensed contractor, under Division 3, section 22-535, Disciplinary Proceedings.
The Special Magistrate shall be an individual selected by the county administrator from a list of candidates approved by the Board of County Commissioners. This special magistrate shall be a member in good standing with the Florida Bar engaged in the
practice of law in this county.
