Ready to make some music? Brevard County Libraries, in partnership with Bruce Reigle, offer Florida’s first Library of Things Ukulele loan program! Our Ukulele Kits—available for both adults and children—include a quality Kala Brand ukulele, tuner, and helpful resources to get you started. Ukuleles are small, portable, and easy to learn—perfect for beginners of all ages. Whether you’re strumming at the beach, relaxing at the park, or learning your first chords at home, this bright and cheerful instrument makes it easy to express yourself through music. Tune up, take your time, and most importantly—have fun!

Libraries with Heart Toolkit: Electronic Blood Pressure Monitor
It’s easier to be proactive about maintaining a heart-healthy lifestyle when we understand our risks for heart disease. Knowing what your blood pressure is, and what your numbers mean for you, is a great place to begin. Through a partnership with the American Heart Association, the Brevard County Library System is able to offer Self-Monitoring Blood Pressure kits to help support the well-being of our community.
Brevard County Residents can check out a kit from select library branches for free with their library card. Each kit contains a blood pressure monitor, arm cuff (available in two sizes), an informational packet (in English & en español), and a log to track your readings.

Memory Kits
Memory Kits are specially designed activity kits that include resources and hands-on activities for persons living with dementia, Alzheimer’s, and other forms of cognitive impairment. Each kit includes curated materials such as interactive books, puzzles, arts and crafts,and guided discussion prompts for caregivers.

Birdwatching Kits
Can you tell the difference between a roseate spoonbill and a scarlet ibis? Want to add the Florida scrub jay to your bird life list? Looking for a new adventure? Birding is a great hobby,whether you’re a novice or an expert!
The Birdwatching kits at the Titusville Public Library are appropriate for kids and adults, and available for check out. Inside each kit you will find:
- Field guides
- Binoculars
- Recording journal and pen
- Additional information on birds and other pollinators

Seed Library
Grow your love of gardening and spread your joy to your community!
How do you check out a plant? Well, at our seed banks you can find seeds for flowers, vegetables, fruits, and herbs. You can take those home, grow a beautiful and/or delicious garden, and at the end of the season you collect your own seeds and return some to the library so others in your community can grow their own!

Who Can Borrow
Due to the unique nature of these materials, some Library of Things materials are only available to adult library cardholders. Please note that juvenile cards may be able to place a hold request in the online catalog, but they will be unable to check out the item from the library. We recommend reaching out to the owning library if you have questions about juvenile card access.
How to Borrow
For holdable items, search “Library of Things” in the Discover Catalog choose your item, place your hold with your library card, and you will receive an automatic notification when it is available. You can also check the Discover Catalog for availability at each branch location and stop by the nearest location during library hours.
How to Return Items
Please return all Library of Things items to the library where the item was originally borrowed.
Make sure all contents are placed back inside the box/container, and bring your item to the library's circulation desk.
Items from the Library of Things collection may not be returned through the library book drop.
